Air Coolers

In terms of construction, air coolers are similar to radiators. Their task is to reduce the temperature of hot air forced through the turbocharger assembly to the engine itself. Practically, one can make a distinction between the two various types of air cooling: a) Direct cooling of intake air, in which the cooler is ventilated by the outside air flow; b) Indirect cooling, in which a liquid coolant flowing through the radiator is used as a cooling agent. Indirect cooling systems usually have a separate coolant circuit, which consists of a low-temperature coolant radiator and a turbocharger air cooler.
