Can I Replace The Transmission Oil Cooler Myself?

- May 30, 2019-

Many of the do-it-yourselfers are intimidated by the idea of work transmission. We don't blame them; the transmission is complicated. However, replacing the transmission cooler is a transmission work that the craftsman can do. Removing the grill should help you get into the oil cooler. Before you disconnect the oil cooler tubing, you need to prepare a catching disc. Use a linear wrench to disconnect the line. Some oil will be lost. If you want to change the line, you can pull them out. Managing the line through the engine compartment can be the most challenging part of the job, especially if you have metal wires. At this point, you can release the cooler from the radiator bracket. Install a new and connect hose. You need to add a transmission fluid to replace items that were lost during maintenance.
